The VI Peel uses a combination of five different acids to create the best results for clients. Retinoic acid penetrates the skin and inhibits melanin production while increasing cell turnover. Trichloroacetic acid targets signs of aging by boosting collagen and exfoliating the skin. Salicylic acid prevents inflammation by killing bacteria, suppressing sebum production and cleansing the pores. Phenol is the secret weapon that numbs the skin allowing for a painless application. Finally, ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant that reverses free radicals, evens skin tone, and helps prevent future damage.
The VI Peel Collection contains 5 unique and effective medical grade chemical peels that are safe to use on all skin types. It is most commonly used on the face, neck, chest, and back, but can be used anywhere on the body. These peels are medical-grade, aggressive but gentle chemical treatments that can only be applied in a practitioner’s office.
After cleansing your skin, it is then prepped for the peel. This is done utilizing a prepared towelette to degrease your skin, removing all oils from the top layer of the skin for optimal peel penetration. The peel is applied in 4 to 6 passes, depending on the individual. Appointments generally take 30 minutes.
After Treatment Care
After application, the peel is left on for 4 hours post treatment. You will receive a post-procedure take home kit. The level of peeling each individual experiences is based on several factors and varies person to person. Results can sometimes be seen after one treatment, however, 3 to 6 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart will reveal optimal results. Always wear SPF and avoid sunlight for at least seven days post peel. Please refrain from vigorous exercise or sweating for 72 hours post peel.
